- Escaramujo
- Una merienda imposible
- Viejas frutas de la pasión
- Suculentas en Corullón
- Una cerradura azul en el camino

Escuchando * Listening: John Frusciante – Repeating

*Maybe it's too late to say goodbye to January, but we all know that better late than never. For me this January has been full of extremes: tranquility and anxiety, elation and sadness, hope and disappointment, sun and snow. As a kind of roller coaster. The long walks I have done, either alone or together, may have led to this sense of speed and movement. But that's okay, and only means one thing: that I keep on going forward. And that's what's important.

- My daughter Abril
- An unexpected red house
- Rose-hip
- An impossible dinner
- Old passion fruits
- Succulents at Corullón
- A blue door lock on the way

Jugando con Pachamama ▼ Playing with Pachamama

(mucho!)

Escuchando * Listening: God is an Astronaut - NIWS

* There are times when you have such an abysmal amount of things to do, that all that happens is that you get blocked completely. I was like this when I sat in my workshop this morning. With a huge list of tasks listed in my notebook, so big that I didn't know where to start. And then comes the paralysis. I put my hand on my chin, and looked away. And there it was. A small cardboard box full of Pachamama. Leaves, dried flowers, pine cones, chestnuts ... all those things I like to collect in bowls, boxes and jars for many years. I start to put them out one by one, ordering by size and then by color, I try to make a mandala ... and I realize: I'm playing! And I get happy and start to take pictures ...

Perhaps, with a full list of tasks didn't seems appropriate start to play, but after a while with the leaves, I started to create things and delete tasks on the list ... so I can take a small - great conclusion from all this: Playing rocks! (a lot!)

Escuchando * Listening: Django Reinhardt - Minor Swing

* I finally sit down to write, after an atypical weekend. A journey of 300 km in the old Volkswagen listening to John Frusciante blaring; an afternoon workshop in a beautiful place, Espacio Ur, surrounded by eight great, creative, delivered students; an overnight trip to an unknown beach and a sunrise in paradise; and an incredible sun and warm water (in the Galician coast!) an October 5, fully dedicated to relax, hike, read, meditate ... a dream, a beautiful dream ...

Still, the other day when I was sitting in the sand, facing the sea, I wondered if that was the place I really should be at. You're in paradise, you're relaxed, you are at peace, but the guilt is still there ... Ugly pattern! As he caught me in a good mood, I let it go, and I began to give thanks: Thanks for allowing me to be there. Thanks for being able to work on something that I really like. Thanks to everyone who makes it possible that I can live the dream of Kirikú. Thanks to every student, every person who has decided to purchase one of my creations, who have trusted me to impart workshops or sell my crafts in your spaces, all my friends that help me support me in a thousand ways, and the ones more close, helping to fulfill the dream every day ... THANK YOU ALL!

Octubre ▼ October

* Yesterday the wonderful teachers of Escuelina Corazonhadas told us about the favourite moment of Abril: the walk. She is the first that gets the boots and runs to enjoy that moment she loves. And I was not surprised. Living in the mountains, one of the daily rituals from her birth was go for a walk in the mountains. First, always near my chest with the foulard, then move on to the backpack, and ultimately walk with our hands together. Never forgave, rain or snow. But since we are in town, there are always a thousand things that catch me and make me resist this call of the mountain, the sun, the acorns and chestnuts. So this October 1 I took the best company to get some air and gather natural inspiration. And fill me, fill us with the smell of autumn of el Bierzo ...

* I'm alone at home for a few days, changing place of the craft workshop, placing the plants, playing and listening to music, solving many outstanding things, taking time to rest with no regrets ... it's amazing how the time can sometimes delay. I am grateful. And of course, I could not be in my four days of infinite time without doing one of my favorite things: cooking. Today I have taken a lot of tomatoes to make salsa to preserve, so I'll share the recipe with you, and I give a trick to sweeten the sauce with no sugar.

* And best of all is that this morning I woke up with a mantra ringing in my head: "Whatever you do today, do it with love" It's great to have it present in the good times but also in the most difficult times of the day. Remember it can change even the worst situations. So, why don't remember every day? I certainly know that today yes, my tomato salsa it's made with much, much love ...

Salsa de Tomate Casera ▼ Homemade Tomato Sauce

2 kg de tomates
1 pimiento rojo
1 cebolla grande
2 dientes de ajo
4 zanahorias
2 remolachas

2kg tomatoes
1 red pepper
1 big onion
2 garlic gloves
4 carrots
2 beetroots
1 ts sea salt
laurel, oregano, ground rosemary... to taste
extra virgin olive oil
*1 Tbs agave syrup

In a large pot saute garlic and onion into small pieces, then add the remaining vegetables, peeled and chopped. Add herbs and cook over medium heat about 30 minutes. At the end of cooking add salt, remove bay leaf and blend everything. The beet and carrot, besides giving a good texture to the sauce, they add much sweetness. If when you try, you think  is not enough, you can also add one or two tablespoons of agave syrup at the end of cooking.

* Preservation: Sterilize 6 jars and lids of 1/2 liter. I wear gloves and wash with boiling tap water. You can also boil a few minutes in a pot or use them from the dishwasher. Let stand over a clean cloth. While jars are still hot, pour in the sauce, without getting to the top. Pour a tiny splash of olive oil and close the lid. Place the jars in a pot with water until jars are covered and boil for 20 minutes. Cool them fast taking them outside or applying a very thin stream of cold water. And that's it! Tomato salsa for the winter! :)

*p.s: Too it's time to make Elderflower Syrup!

Paz... ▼ Peace...

Listening * Escuchando: Crepusculum - A sheltered life

* I'm writing from the city, after two weeks of retiring with my daughter Abril, at a very small village in the mountains of la Ribeira Sacra in Galicia.

When I close my eyes I can remember some moments of peace and happiness: night lulled by the sound of crickets, evenings watering the garden, a basket under the arm always full of vegetables, figs, berries or flowers, the taste of goat milk freshly milked, the murmur of friends talking in French, lavender in every walk, time and more time to stop and observe the many plants and animals that flooded around us ...

Putting aside the stress and allowing yourself enjoy the little things in life is a gift that is priceless ... I wish you to be finding your magic on the quiet moments the summer is giving us...

El mar ▼ The sea

Escuchando * Listening: Nils Frahm - Ambre

I got up at 7am, put on a coat and went for a walk along the cliffs. I stopped in every flower, insect, stone, taking advantage of the beautiful light before dawn. I walked and walked until I reach a hidden, full of stones and seaweed creek. And when I turned around, I meet a blazing sun, awakening over the vast ocean ... i'll say it was a gift.

The sensation of the salt in the air. The sea flavor on the tongue. The warmth of the sun on the skin. The defiant sound of water crashing against the rocks. The overwhelming presence of a blue, immeasurable, mysterious ocean. It has only been a month. But I miss it.
