Nuevos Accesorios de cuero "Envelopes" ▼ New Leather Accessories "Envelopes"

Hoy lanzo mi nueva colección de accesorios de cuero "Envelopes", una línea de productos simples, de calidad y prácticos, para que nos acompañen en el día a día. Es tan grande la ilusión de materializar una colección en la que empiezas a trabajar desde hace tiempo, desde el diseño y patronaje, los prototipos, la producción final, la sesión de fotos y por fin ensearlo al mundo, que hace que todo el tiempo dedicado tenga sentido. Sólo espero que os gusten tanto como a mi.

* Today I launch my new collection of leather accessories "Envelopes", a line of simple and practical products, for everyday use. So big is the illusion of materializing a collection in which you start working for some time, from design and pattern, prototypes, final production, the shoot and finally announce to the world, that makes all time spent makes sense. I just hope you like them as much as me.

Jugando con Pachamama ▼ Playing with Pachamama

Hay veces en las que tienes una cantidad tan abismal de cosas por hacer, que lo único que sucede es que te bloqueas completamente. Así estaba yo ésta mañana cuando me senté en mi taller. Con una lista de tareas enorme apuntadas en mi cuaderno, tan grande que no sabía por dónde empezar. Y entonces viene la parálisis. Apoyé la mano en mi barbilla, y miré hacia otro lado. Y allí estaba. Una pequeña caja de cartón llena de Pachamama. Hojas, flores secas, piñas, castañas...todas esas cosas que me gusta coleccionar en cuencos, cajas y tarros desde hace muchos años. Empiezo a sacarlas una a una, las ordeno por tamaño y luego por color, pruebo a hacer algún mandala...y me doy cuenta: ¡Estoy jugando! Y me emociono toda y hasta me pongo a sacar fotos...

Quizás, ante una lista llena de tareas no parece lo más apropiado ponerse a jugar, pero después del ratito con las hojas, se acabó el bloqueo y me puse a crear y tachar tareas de la lista...así que sólo puedo sacar una pequeña-gran conclusión de todo ésto: ¡Jugar mola! (mucho!)

* There are times when you have such an abysmal amount of things to do, that all that happens is that you get blocked completely. I was like this when I sat in my workshop this morning. With a huge list of tasks listed in my notebook, so big that I didn't know where to start. And then comes the paralysis. I put my hand on my chin, and looked away. And there it was. A small cardboard box full of Pachamama. Leaves, dried flowers, pine cones, chestnuts ... all those things I like to collect in bowls, boxes and jars for many years. I start to put them out one by one, ordering by size and then by color, I try to make a mandala ... and I realize: I'm playing! And I get happy and start to take pictures ...

Perhaps, with a full list of tasks didn't seems appropriate start to play, but after a while with the leaves, I started to create things and delete tasks on the list ... so I can take a small - great conclusion from all this: Playing rocks! (a lot!)

Una hoja * One leaf

Cuando consigo tener un rato para carvar sellos, me encanta hacer modelos de la naturaleza, y siempre que puedo... ¡hojas!

Y hoy os dejo un regalito: he creado una lista en Grooveshark, donde podéis escuchar toda la música que os voy recomendando en cada post. Sólo música buena! Espero que la disfrutéis :)

Desde que descubrí el carvado de sellos, cada vez estoy más y más metida en el mundo de la estampación, probando técnicas diferentes, leyendo libros especializados sobre el tema como éste, éste ó éste otro, y cada vez alucinando  más con los resultados. Me encantó hacer éste cojín, y confirmar mi nueva pasión por el azul; un color al que no le he prestado demasiada atención durante años y que ahora estoy redescubriendo: nueva ropa azul, el toque frío y especial que le da a todas las fotos, sus múltiples tonalidades en la pintura, tintas, acuarelas...

Listening * Playing: System of a Down - Lonely Day

* Since discovering stamp carving, each time I am more and more into the world of stamping, trying different techniques, reading specialized books on  like this, this or this other, and increasingly amazed at the results. I loved doing this cushion, and confirm my new passion for blue; a color that I have not paid much attention for years and am now rediscovering: new blue clothes, the cold and special touch that gives all the photos, its many hues in paint, inks, watercolors ...

Espacio Ur

Laura es encantadora y trabaja en un sitio muy especial: Espacio Ur. Es un espacio de docencia de creatividad y creación artística. Un lugar donde además de crear su propia obra, y ser punto de encuentro, se imparten clases y talleres de pintura, dibujo, artesanía, diseño...para niños y adultos. Y además, ¡es precioso!

Colección Nativos ▼ Nativos Collection

Nacieron gracias a los troncos de madera de Boj y la inspiración de los sabios Nativos Americanos. Y yo no puedo estar más feliz y satisfecha con el resultado...deseo que encontréis tanta belleza como yo en éstas pequeñas piezas únicas e irrepetibles, hechas a mano con todo mi cariño...

* They were born thanks to some boxwood logs and the inspiration from wise Native Americans. They have been exposed in Santiago de Compostela, and have also been in the displays of Dosmilvacas.arte. I can't be more happier and satisfied with the results ... I wish that you could find as much beauty as I do in these small unique pieces, handmade with much care and love ...

Blockprinting

Es genial tener el estudio-taller en una habitación que está fuera de la casa y donde no hay wifi. Así, cuando voy allí, no hay otras cosas que me distraigan, y me tengo que dedicar exclusivamente a hacer lo que realmente me apetece hacer: crear. Y es que es fácil quedarse atrapado en una lista interminable de quehaceres y dejar la creatividad en último lugar. Y éso no es bueno. Por éso estoy tan contenta, de que ya sean 4 horas o 20 minutos, voy a aprovechar el tiempo en mi taller. Como ayer, que me puse a carvar un sello, y estuve haciendo pruebas con la pintura para blockprinting Dawler-Rowney. Y me han gustado mucho los resultados!

* It's great to have the studio-workshop in a room that is out of the house and where there is no wifi. So, when I go there, there aren't other things that distract me, and I have to devote exclusively to doing what I really want to do: create. It's easy to get caught in an endless to-do list and let creativity last. And that's not good. That's why I'm so glad, that either 4 hours or 20 minutes, I will take advantage of time in my workshop. Like yesterday, that I carved a stamp, and was experimenting with Dawler-Rowney blockprinting paint.

Nativos ▼ Native

La semana pasada estuve trabajando en una nueva serie de colgantes de madera, hechos a mano, uno a uno, con cuidado, mimando los detalles, inspirados en los nativos americanos. Preparé las rodajas de Boj en el taller de brzwoodesign (no dejéis de ver sus increíbles lámparas de madera!), y luego me rodeé de plumas, buena música y algunos libros inspiradores sobre los indios. Hoy os enseño fotos del proceso; el resultado final está en las estanterías de  Local Disponible, un proyecto de ocupación artística en los locales de "Área Central" en Santiago de Compostela, junto a muchos más artistas, hasta finales de Junio. Y cada vez estoy más y más enamorada de la madera...

* Last week I worked on a new series of wood necklaces, handmade, one by one, carefully, inspired by Native Americans. I prepared Boj slices in brzwoodesign workshop (you should stop to see its amazing wooden lamps!), Then I surrounded by feathers, good music and some inspiring books about Indians. Today I show pictures of the process; the end result is on the shelves of Local Disponible, a project of artistic occupation at "Central Area" in Santiago de Compostela, with many more artists,during June. And every time I'm more and more in love with wood ...
